The 28th Annual Field Parasitology Student Symposium

At the end of Field Parasitology, students present their independent projects as formal papers in a mock scientific meeting. This year the program was held in the downstairs lab, with Teaching Assistant Jill Detwiler presiding.


The Program:

1. A. Williams and J. Muñoz. Lithobius forficatus: frequency of gregarine parasite infections.

 

2. R. Hamlin and M. Zimmerman. Gregarine populations within adult and naiad damselflies of the species Amphiagrion abbreviatum (Odonata: Zygoptera).

 

3. E. Matthews and J. Elsener. Parasitism and pairing in the damselfly Amphiagrion abbreviatum.

 

4. B. Gartrell and J. Gartrell. Stadium specificity of gregarine parasites in damselflies.

 

5. N. M. Salonen and A. R. Haave. Sex specific distribution of gregarines in Ischnura verticalis adults and larvae.

 

6. J. Eckhardt and J. Woehler. Experimental infections of larval Ischnura verticalis with gregarine oocysts from adults of the same species.

 

7. A. Gutsche and P. Ryberg. Water mite distribution on Ischnura verticalis.

 

8. Tung Huy Le. Host specificity of water mite larvae.

 

9. C. Cutshall and J. Carter. Preferred second intermediate hosts of the digenetic trematode Allocreadium lobatum at Cedar Creek, Nebraska.

 

10. T. Corry. Comparisons of cercarial locomotion in Plagiorchidae and Spirorchidae.
